Realizing the Vision of the Abraham Accords: Building a Future of Mutual Acceptance, Peaceful Co-existence, and Collaboration

In December 2024 the GIC, with support from Secure Canada, co-hosted a symposium with the Parliamentary Centre focused on advancing the vision of the Abraham Accords—mutual acceptance, peaceful coexistence, and interfaith collaboration.

Held on Parliament Hill, the event gathered parliamentarians, religious leaders, and experts to discuss the role of faith in promoting dialogue and peace in the Middle East and beyond. Emphasizing the enduring relevance of the Abraham Accords amid global tensions, the symposium highlighted the potential of the Abrahamic faiths to enable peace-building and the GIC’s ongoing efforts, including its role in developing a Culture of Peace Educational Curriculum.

The symposium concluded with the signing of the GIC Ottawa Declaration, affirming a strong commitment to interfaith harmony and rejection of extremist ideologies.
